Participant Photo: Barred owl in the Shenandoah National Park
My sister and I saw this barred owl on a hike in the Shenandoah National Park. We were about 8 feet from it on the trail and it just sat there and watched us for five minutes. Then, a few people came up behind us and it got startled and flew off. It was really cool to see!
