Participant Photo: Beautiful white bird visiting my feeders
First observed this beautiful bird on Thursday, August 14, 2025. It was on my patio pavers below my feeders. Since then I’ve seen it near my rhododendron near the road, and regularly on my pavers and flying into my azalea bush and trees near my lake. Submitted it to Merlin and Maine Birds. A variety of responses. Some thought it might be someone’s pet canary! Avian Haven said it looks like a leucistic sparrow of some variety, possibly a junco.

Some sort of junco or native sparrow. Was it flocking with any other birds?
