Participant Photo: Black-headed Grosbeak male

Male first arrived on April 22nd to take a bath. On April 26th he returned and perched in the tree near the thistle seed feeder, which had no perches, watching the finches hang on and feed. Next day we put out a hanging platform feeder with mixed seed, including black-oil sunflower seeds. Within a day, we saw a female feeding at the platform with two finches. Hoping the male returns soon!
