Participant Photo: Common Redpoll
Throughout most of the winter, our Project FeederWatch counts included several or more Common Redpolls included in the flock of mixed finches that would visit our count site in northcentral Wisconsin. During the last couple of weeks in March, as we near the end of this count season, we’ve seen larger numbers of Common Redpolls in our back yard, including this one in our hawthorn tree.

Could you tell me why we are finding so many dead Red Polls in our neighborhood. There have been about thirty found in the last month.
