Participant Photo: Cooper’s Hawk
I was observing this Cooper’s Hawk hunting in our backyard a couple weeks ago. It hopped up to this old fence post about 15 ft from me. A Pigeon flew in, landing behind me and this is the Hawk just before it flew over my head and went after the bird. Unsuccessful attack but a thrill to be in the middle of.
