Participant Photo: Cooper’s Hawk adult
An adult Cooper’s Hawk showed up at our birdbath on both count days. On the final count day, he visited at least twice. The Verdins were giving their alarm calls and all the other birds kept their distance or remained hidden. His presence may have affected our species counts for these two days.
