Participant Photo: Cooper’s Hawk at the Window

I was in my kitchen, glanced up and spotted this big sweetie sitting on my pool fence. He was about two feet from the house. (The fence abuts the corner of the house and adjacent deck.). He was also about 3’ from a mealworm basket, with a seed silo and suet cage not too far away. So, looking for dinner I assume. I frequently see CHs in my yard and on that fence; my yard abuts conservation lands. But the fact that it landed so close to the house made this a Wow moment for me.
