From our feeder area we can hear two pairs of Crissal Thrashers making their characteristic “tweet tweet tweet” calls. They are shy, and will skulk in for water and tidbits of suet that have fallen to the ground. It is very rare for them to fly up to the platform feeder. The Curve-billed Thrashers will often chase the Crissals away from the feeder area. On the March 27/29 Feeder Watch we had two Crissal Thrashers in the feeder area at the same time which is unusual.
