Participant Photo: Dark beak means it a juvenile- but male? or female?
I am beginning to recognize some of the juveniles in my yard. I am pretty sure this is a juvenile Cardinal. But how do you recognize whether it is male or female ?

Juvenile female. Juvenile males have patches of red.
