Typically, we see the Dark-eyed Juncos (Oregon) in our yard this time of the year, with their dark gray/blackish hoods, brown backs and buffy/brownish sides. This Dark-eyed Junco (Slate-colored) stood out from the surrounding Dark-eyed Juncos (Oregon) by his dark gray back and sides contrasting with a bright white belly.
