Participant Photo: Female red-winged blackbird
This bird was in my yard and birdbath several times in January and February, but I could not determine what species it was. When I showed photo to manager at Wild Birds Unlimited, he immediately said it was a female red-winged blackbird. I never saw a male blackbird in my yard.
