Participant Photo: Great Horned Owl
See his beautiful ear tufts bending from the blustery northern winds that had our Ponderosa Pine swaying? He did move further up the tree to seek a more stable branch. I don’t imagine he got a restful sleep, poor thing, with all the car traffic & neighborhood noise causing him to awaken many times in the six hours that I observed him. But I’ve always had Great Horned Owls as residents for thirty years, waking us with their hooting!
