I’ve been over the moon about my new feeder visitor this week, especially since I’m often trying to get good looks (and photos) of these guys on birding trips, usually in vain!

For the first time I have sighted a male red-bellied woodpecker at our feeder in Nova Scotia this week.. I wonder if there are other sightings as I didn’t think they normally come this far north. A delight to see!
