Participant Photo: Harris’s Hawks on New Year’s Eve
Additional images:
My husband, Keith, took these photos of three Harris’s Hawks who visited our backyard on New Year’s Eve. One was noticeably larger than the others, and we surmise this was the pack-leading female. Recently, we came home from a short trip to Bisbee and found three rock dove carcasses and evidence of at least three more rock dove deaths (feather piles). I blamed this on our resident bobcat but these three efficient raptors may be a better explanation to the pigeons’ Day of Infamy.
I have Keith Harris’ permission to share these with you.
