This Hermit Warbler was seen in our waterfall in December, when he should have been in the tropics for the winter. I wonder if he was late migrating because the weather had stayed warm, or because the fires slowed him down. He stayed in the pond for a short time before flying away. Several other Warblers were there the same day or the next, including a rare Yellow, a Townsend’s and many Yellow-rumped Warblers.
