Participant Photo: Indigo Bunting shows signs of conjunctivitis

While not nearly as bad as I’ve seen on other birds, this male Indigo Bunting’s eye looks to me like it’s showing early signs of conjunctivitis. It’s the first time I’ve noticed any possible eye disease in an Indigo Bunting.

    Bob, seems to be an outbreak of buntings this spring, seen two in different locations here in Maine, first in over 10 years. Love your photos.
