Participant Photo: Is this a Cooper’s Hawk or a Sharp-Shinned Hawk?
This hawk has been around a lot this Winter and has kept the number of birds at feeder down.

I would guess Cooper’s because of the striping and the relatively heavy feet. Lovely bird!
Try out Tricky Bird ID tool, for Cooper’s vs. Sharp-shinned Hawks!
I think it’s a Cooper’s. if you saw the tail, the Sharp-shinned has distinctly squared tail feathers versus the more rounded tail of the Cooper’s.
Cooper’s hawks are about the size of a crow with a large head and large feet. Sharp-shinned Hawks are smaller, more the size of a blue jay with a more proportionate head size and smaller feet.
