Participant Photo: Is this a female Painted Bunting?

This bird visited today for the first time ever. When I looked it up -the closest I could find was the Painted Bunting (female). Really sorry the male did not visit — He must be a really beautiful bird. I have never even heard of a Painted Bunting–but it evidently comes to Maryland’s coast.

Looks like it. Great find!
Great photo. I have seen several of the females around our feeder. Mostly on the ground. Unexpectedly this morning I got a photo of a male at the feeder. We live in north Texas also.
