Participant Photo: is this a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk?
Suddenly there were no birds in my yard–then I spied this bird , that I think is Red-shouldered Hawk.
but trying to identify it-makes me think it is a juvenile.

It looks more like a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk. Note the yellow eyes and thin streaking on the belly.
