Participant Photo: Juvenile Coopers hawk
This young hawk was perched just 12 inches from a squirrel that was raiding the bird feeder. The squirrel was unperturbed, and the hawk was curious but not threatening. Next morning, there was evidence that a pigeon had become a meal.
