Participant Photo: Juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
The juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker spends most of the day in its favorite Bur Oak. It took a while for identification because there was no visible red spot on the head. After researching a bit more, I found that juveniles do not have the red head yet.
