Participant Photo: Late Winter Partly Bald Cardinal
We often see a male and female Northern Cardinal around our feeder. However we were surprised to see this particular guy. He acted perfectly normally, but he clearly has a problem as the feathers on one side of his head are gone.
A day or so later we saw a normal male and female Northern Cardinal together, so we guess that this one may be an “outsider”.
