I posted this and thought it was a Lesser Goldfinch. Since then I have been told by ebird reviewers on my ebird list that it is a rare sighting of Western Tanager on my persimmon tree.
With Project FeederWatch, I don’t know how to delete photos or change the ID info, so I am leaving this in the comments.
