    A frequent visitor to our feeder, the Louisiana Waterthrush was easy to identify, as I could stand three feet away with ID book in hand. It got used to my presence within two visits.

    We live across from a tidal creek. The description has the natural habit as freshwater streams, so I did about six observations before I was certain of the bird’s ID.
