Participant Photo: Male Northern Flicker on the ground
I thought I would submit this shot, even though it’s not a good photo, simply because this is the closest that I’ve ever gotten to a Flicker, or that a Flicker has ever gotten to me. I’ve never had one visit any of my feeders. This male was in the meadow in front of my home.

Awesome shot Bob, love his black mustache and tie; his feathers blend into the meadow grass camoflaguing famously with those spots. I love seeing them every Spring in New England. Thanks for sharing l.
