Participant Photo: Mockingbirds in a Territorial Dispute

Three mockingbirds seem to be arguing over territory that includes this birdbath. In this instance, two were at the birdbath when one puffed out his feathers and opened his bill wide in a display of aggression. The other lowered his head and opened his bill wide. The “larger” bird stood his ground until the other flew away. Still, they’ve been seen sharing the birdbath since then.
