Participant Photo: My First Hairy Woodpecker sighting

This bird flew to my Bluebird Mealworm feeder and looked through the plexiglass side clinging to the edge. She stayed for a bout 2 minutes looking around then left. The pic is a still capture from video I was running on my iphone 14 pro max on a tripod from inside the house when she arrived. She was there at the same time as a male Red-Bellied Woodpecker that was on a suet cage about a foot from her.

I have many Downy visits all the time but this is the first time I’ve ever seen a Hairy in my yard. A life bird for me.
