I visited this nest site for the better of two months from the time of the eggs being laid until the chicks first flight above the nest. At first the parents were very wary, as could be expected, but after a few weeks they landed on the shoreline of the Columbia River in front of me without even giving me a look. Fortunately, as the chick first caught the wind and bounded above the nest, I was able to capture 37 shots in a roll of 36. Before my days in digital began…I was a hold out, loved Velvia…
