Participant Photo: Osprey R&R
Every year in April we see one, occasionally two, osprey stop over on Walton Lake in Monroe NY for about 2 weeks. The lake sits below our deck and the bird generally alights on the same lake shore tree right outside our house. This one is a female, with brown speckles on her white chest visible through binoculars. Sadly we don’t have a great telephoto camera lens, but the cell phone managed to capture this view, and we look forward to seeing this amazing creature stop by every year nonetheless.
