Fresh snow told the story of predator (owl) swooping down and taking a mourning dove. All that was left was the imprint and a few feathers.

Very cool!
It may be have been a Cooper’s or Sharp-shinned Hawk, because Mourning Doves don’t usually feed or fly at night.(Mourning Doves are a favorite of both hawks)
