Participant Photo: Patient Sharp-shinned Hawk on Crepe Myrtle Branch
Early this afternoon (March 10, 2021) I looked out the front door and saw this sharp-shinned hawk perched on the nearby crepe myrtle. It’s a warm day for the season, around 70 F. It could be a Cooper’s, but the tail feathers seem to be those of a sharpie. After taking the pic, I went away not to disturb it, and it was still there twenty minutes later. I could not get around front of it without disturbing it.
