Participant Photo: Rare snow storm on April 15th hits Crossville, Tennessee
Additional images:
When I awoke on the morning of April 15th, I was amazed to find the ground, and feeders, already covered with snow. I took a shot of a snow-covered nectar feeder, then went around and cleared snow from all the feeders. The hummingbirds had only first arrived here 5 days earlier, so I’m sure they were surprised by the snow (as I was. here in “sunny Tennessee”). I rigged one nectar feeder beneath my back door canopy to keep it sheltered from the snow, and exchanged dry ones for those that were snow-covered.
