          • The Birds of North America web site says about the Brown Thrasher:
“Because of its tendency to forage on the ground and skulk in dense brush when disturbed, it is less often seen than heard.”
So, maybe they are just difficult birds to spot.
Incidentally, it would be a lot more convenient to send me an email, rather than to communicate here—I often don’t even think to look if someone has commented on one of my photos. If you want to be sure that I’ll see any question or comment, send it to: bobvuxinic@frontiernet.net

  1. We love in Memphis, TN and my daughter and I just spotted one on our backyard! If flew off before we could get pics! It was beautiful!!

  2. I have two brown thrashers in the hedges in my side yard in Tampa, Florida. They visit my bird feeder daily along with the doves, blue jays. red cardinals, hairy woodpeckers, red bellied woodpeckers and other friends ( squirrels).! Love them!
