These beautiful transplants from the east have settled in our neighborhood. Their number increases in the summer, but I see two to three year round. They have a beautiful, melodic song that alerts me to grab my binoculars and enjoy. They eat the berries from the surrounding trees and tall shrubs, and once in a while they drop in on our yard, possibly lured by the sound of the fountain.
