Participant Photo: Red-Winged Blackbird in Juneau, AK
I’ve seen these down south, but this is the first time I’ve seen a red-winged blackbird here in Juneau despite living here (almost) my whole life. He’s been back to visit our feeder the last 3 days – very much enjoying the drop-ins!

They like to nest at Kingfisher’s pond behind JPD and will head-bomb you if you’re not careful! Funny, there’s only a handful of obs on inaturalist, though.
I just landed here googling this morning because hubby just heard some bird calls and Merlin ID’d them as redwings! Pretty early!
