We were privileged to have a roadrunner spend most of his time in and around our yard for several years. He’d hop up on our windowsills with lizards or sticks (to offer us?), he’d coo from our chimney most mornings, and for more than a year, he spent every night on a beam above our entryway, just outside a window. We could watch him hop up from a light fixture to his perch in the evening, hop down and run around in the morning. We still have an occasional roadrunner stop by, but we miss our resident Roadie, who maybe just grew old…
