Participant Photo: Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Additional images:
I spotted this hummingbird while taking photos of a Red-breasted Nuthatch. At first I didn’t know what it was, although the shape and size was that of hummingbird, the colors were off. When I looked though my camera lens I knew it was a Ruby-throated hummingbird, the only hummingbird we have in Minnesota. I thought that the light was playing tricks with the colors, but looking through the camera lens, then later on my laptop, I realized that the colors were how they appear in these photos.
