I have noticed that all birds flee when the sharp-shinned hawk comes to my yard, but the squirrels continue doing whatever they were doing. The hawk can plainly see them, but doesn’t go after them. In today’s snowstorm, this squirrel climbed the tree the hawk was sitting on and spent some time right next to it.
