Participant Photo: Sharp-shinned hawk w/captured downy woodpecker
While I’ve seen this hawk around my feeders from time to time, I’ve never seen him take his lunch from one of the feeders. He waited on the deck railing 10 mins for the downy to die before flying off to a tree to consume it.
