Participant Photo: Spotted Towhee Waiting to Steal Scrub Jay’s Almond
Every time the Scrub Jay would bury another almond in the garden, the Spotted Towhee would dig it up and eat it. It didn’t seem like the Scrub Jay realized what was going on, he was too busy gathering and burying more almonds. It was a pretty funny sight, to see the Spotted Towhee hiding behind a bush, watching the Scrub Jay, and as soon as the Jay was done, the Towhee would hop over and gobble it up!
