Participant Photo: star rating under consideration?
The female half of a pair of downy woodpeckers who have been regular visitors to the garden sunflowers all summer/fall. While I’d seen the male at my feeders a few times in the week or so since installing the suet feeder, this was my first time getting such a close look at the female. She doesn’t look completely sure about the “restaurant,” does she? (She’s been back since, so I guess it must be acceptable.)
