Participant Photo: Surprised by a Lincoln’s Sparrow!

I’ve been looking for one of these all summer! I have a huge field behind my house and a bunch of brush and it’s lined by a forest. I had a TON of juvenile sparrows around all summer and spent HOURS researching- trying to tell them apart. A few I thought could have been Lincoln’s- but I hadn’t seen any adults so figured they probably weren’t. Well the other day this little dude came flying out of the bushes at the edge of the field to stomp around on it’s branch and check me out! I was super pumped to finally see one 😀
