This photo clarifies so much for me. I have been seeing both these birds out my kitchen window bird feeder along with black redwinged blackbirds, but didn’t know that the female looked like the one in your photo. Thank you.

These birds have made a nest on my porch with 4 baby birds and both male and female bird feeds the babies.
I have more than 1 pair of these odd couples. I’ve wondered about them and this definitely is what I keep seeing in my feeders.
