Participant Photo: Varied thrush winter feeding
Additional images:
This varied thrush has only shown up a couple of days over my years of feeding. But this February, midst our horrible and unusual snowfall, he lived under my feeders, socializing well with others, and only flying off when I switched out the nearby humming bird feeder to keep it thawed. He usually stayed on the ground, but when too little feed had been scratched down, he would fly up and feed from the hangers.
