Participant Photo: Water is life.
Snow covered ground and cold temps kept the bluebird flock coming around for a drink. I watched the flock closely for several days. None of the bluebirds ( or any birds at all ) took a bath in the water while it was cold out. As the snow started to melt the volume of bluebirds dropped to pairs or groups of three. Most remarkable of all to me was the moment a pair flew in and started to bathe. I quickly checked the temperature and sure enough, it was 33 degrees outside.
