The White-crowned Sparrows that visit our yard seem to enjoy eating the berries on the Lantana bush. The only bush blooming in our yard now (January 2025) attracts them even if we are standing nearby. This photo was taken as I was standing within a couple of feet of the bush! Surprisingly, these berries are a known toxin to mammals and yet the birds actively pursue them.
