Participant Photo: White-crowned Sparrows at Birdbath
On this day, a dozen or more White-crowned Sparrows took turns bathing in the fountain. Water is at a premium here in the desert, and the shallow dishes which catch water from the overspray are just the right size for a little sparrow. The trickling water draws many different birds to our yard.
