Description

This bird flew from my Nyjer feeder to a flower pot I have outside my window. It’s left eye was crusted and gone, and when it rested on the edge of the pot, it’s other eye was mostly shut also.

Ava Johnson says:

It could be House Finch Eye Disease (Mycoplasmal conjunctivitis). Clean your feeders thoroughly and take them down for at least a few days to prevent other birds from getting infected if it has a contagious disease.
