I saw these two house finches in my backyard this morning 2/14/16. Both appear to have eye disease. I clean my feeders and bird bath regularly, but still see birds with eye disease almost every day. I usually see about 15 – 20 house finches at a time in my yard, with 1 – 5 of them with eye disease. After I clean my feeders, I keep them down a few days before refilling them. But as soon as I put them back up, I see finches with eye disease again. I started looking for eye disease in the Fall and I didn’t see any at first. Then I would just see one occasionally. Now it’s more frequent.
