Image of a House Finch with eye disease. Of particular note, I have seen only 2 birds with the same affliction out of about 30 in the flock.
Of note, the feathers immediately above the eye are raised as you can see in these images. Also, I have only seen males with this problem and no females with the problem even though they outnumber males in this flock by about 50%…
